2017 Summer Activities for Kids, Teens, and Families

Summer vacation is just around the corner and I’m sure parents are already looking for summer activities for kids (and families). I created a list of workshops, camps, and classes last year and since that list helped a lot of parents last summer, I decided to compile another list for 2017!

Kids will learn to stuff and sew their own plush toy at Kids Camp at The Farm

Summer Activities for Kids (Preschool / Gradeschool)

KIDS CAMP AT THE FARM – We had the opportunity to join the Kids Camp at The Farm last year and I have to say, our family had a grand time! This is definitely a must in your list of summer activities for kids! With the goal to encourage families to go on adventures that matter, Kids Camp at The Farm opened the minis’ eyes to social enterprises by spending time with the GK community at The Farm and working in the farm themselves. The kids were delighted to have been able to feed the animals, make plushies, bake crinkles, and whip up their very own peanut butter. But I believe the highlight of the camp was that the minis made new friends and that they learned to “study hard so we can help others more” (their words, not mine).

Age Range: 5 to 12 years old
Schedule: March 11, April 15
Price: Php 2,200 per head

COOKIE WORKSHOP FOR KIDS – Kids love getting messy and this is the perfect class to do just that! Here, kids will learn to bake cookies from scratch so they can make their own at home. This class is held by a good friend of ours, Issa Lozada of Choonee & Yowee Cakes. Although we haven’t tried this ourselves (planning to try this summer!), a lot of my daughter’s classmates have gone to the workshop and truly enjoyed baking and decorating their own cookies.

Age Range: 3 years old and up
Schedule: March 25
Price: Php 2,000 per head

READY STEADY GO KIDS – Yet another program that we had a chance to try a few years back, this summer workshop aims to encourage children to shift to a healthier lifestyle through physical activities and sports. The program is also developed to increase confidence in young children and prepare them for participation in school and within their community.

Age Range: 2.5 to 7 years old

MILO SPORTS CLINICS – Do you have a sporty little one? Or would you like to develop your child’s motor skills? Enrol your child in one of Milo’s Sports Clinics this summer! We haven’t tried this ourselves since we’re usually traveling during the minis’ summer vacation, but I’ve heard so many good reviews about the various sports clinics.
