Because I’m on bed rest…

I have been in and out of the hospital for two weeks and on complete bed rest for almost a month now… so I really haven’t been able to bond with baby Kelly. Since I haven’t had a lot of bleeding episodes lately, I decided to get out of bed this one afternoon to play with my little girl.
I can sense that she’s feeling a bit out of place ever since I was advised to go on complete bed rest. Her Dad had to keep her away from me the whole time so she wouldn’t jump on me or ask me to carry her. That’s why I decided to schedule a play date with Kelly and I can tell she was really excited when she saw me set up a tent.
Last night, Kelly’s Ninong (Godfather) went to us with a package. It wasn’t a special day, he just thought of buying a gift for Kelly. The little girl was super excited when she opened the package. Ever since she saw her cousin’s tent, she’s been asking us to buy her one every time we go to the mall. So it’s really nice that her Ninong bought her one. 🙂
When I was feeling better (I’m usually dizzy due to the medication I’m taking), I took the chance to set up her tent in our room. I used my yoga mat as the pink – instead of red – carpet leading to her mini-castle. I also placed her favorite stuffed toys inside and prepared a bowl of eggnog cookies and juice for our tea party.
We played make believe for a whole hour until she finally asked for a bottle of milk and pulled me to bed. It was time for her afternoon nap. She hugged me tight and fell asleep beside me. I can tell she’s been wanting to spend time with me so I’m glad I had the chance to play with my baby girl today. 🙂 Hopefully, things will get better in the coming weeks so I can really spend time with her.
