31 Years Blessed

I thought about how I can best capture my special day this year. I decided I’d write myself a letter so I can keep going back to this beautiful day in the years to come. Feel free to share your greetings, prayers, and birthday messages in the comments so I can compile them all here!

A Birthday Letter: 31 Years Old, 31 Years Blessed

Dear Kim,

Today, you celebrate 31 years of life.

Today, you celebrate that you are and have been 31 years blessed.

The world is still doing its best to survive the pandemic. We are in challenging times, but we are doing our best to celebrate life. This pandemic reminded us of how easily life can be taken away – so every day, we celebrate it. We just went a little extra today because it’s your birthday.

When you go back and read this letter, remember this:

Do your best to live in the moment, always. Life is all about the little moments in between. Don’t miss those precious moments so live them and try not to get caught up in the race.

Be grateful, always. Gratitude is a magical thing. The more you practice it, the more blessings you receive. Be grateful for the big things. Big grateful for the little things. Write them all down, every single day.

Take care of yourself first, always. You cannot pour from an empty cup. Remember to take care of yourself so your loved ones can experience you in your best.

In difficult moments, ask yourself, “What is this trying to teach me?” There are lessons to be learned in all situations. Don’t get caught up in the drama and the stories your ego tells you. Focus on the lessons. Focus on moving forward.

When people don’t believe in you, remember that it’s enough that you believe in yourself. Listen to what other people say, but also listen to the most important voice: yours.

You are blessed.

You are loved.

You are enough.

Always remember that.

Yourself, 2020.
