Welcoming 2015 With An Attitude of Gratitude

HAPPY NEW YEAR!ย How was your celebration last night? I hope you had a blast! ๐Ÿ™‚ Anyway.ย I am so thrilled to welcome 2015 with a post about my word of the year. Last year, I chose to focus onย hope. I needed that most after experiencing the most difficult of times in 2013. I have to tell you, it’s amazing how obstacles are easier to overcome when we hope!

If 2013 was a tough year for us, 2014 sure was a good year for our familyย because weย hoped…for a better year, a better life. And I am so grateful that God blessed us with what we prayed for; hoped for. As in, we were showered with lots blessings! Daddy A’s career is going well–having been awarded three medals for his outstanding leadership; my project management business is on a roll; andย we’ve made good friends and reconnected with old ones. There were a couple of down times and goodbyes, but those taught us to cherish and be even more grateful for who and what we have in our lives.ย It was, indeed, an abundant and meaningfulย year. So for 2015, my word is Gratitude.

“Praise the LORD! Oh give thanks to the LORD, for He is good; For His loving kindness is everlasting.” (Psalms 106:1)

This year, I promise to have an attitude of gratitude. I will remember to be always grateful–both for the grand and the simple blessings we receive. In fact, I will also be gratefulย for the hurdles because these, I believe, are blessings in disguise. They are the typeย that pushes us to have an even bigger faith that things will be okayย as long as we hold on to God’s guiding hands.

There will be good times and bad times this 2015. But with an attitude of gratitude, I’m sure I can overcome anything that comes my way. How about you?ย What’s your word for 2015?

Mine is definitely Optimism, although I have been using this as my focus word for years. It’s the best word that keeps afloat midst all our struggles as a family. I praise you since you are a wonderful mother and wife, I am sure that your 2015 will be a blast dear.

Thanks for the kind words, Marie! I needed to hear those words especially now that I’m being attacked as a mom. Although I know what the other person is saying is not true, it still sort of affects me that she’s telling other people that I’m a bad mom. So- thank you!
