The Minis’ Play Day at Kidzoona SM Masinag

I have been hearing a lot of raves about Kidzoona recently so when I found out that they opened a branch in SM Masinag, I knew I had to bring the minis there. Besides, The Princess has been asking me to bring them to a playground ever since her summer vacation began. We do have a playground in our village, but the weather has been so intense, which is why I prefer that they play in an indoor playground. Hence, our trip to Kidzoona last weekend.

Since we went there on a weekend, it was expected that there will a lot of kids playing at Kidzoona. The play area is really big though so it didn’t feel too crowded. Still, I’d recommend that you go here on a weekday so the kids can really enjoy the whole play area.

How was our experience at Kidzoona SM Masinag?

The Little Man really enjoyed sliding down the inflatable slide and landing on a pit of balls. He practically spent the whole hour there. I didn’t realize he’s that strong already! I thought he won’t be able to climb and slide on his own…but he can! Our little man is not so little anymore!

The Princess preferred the kid-sized shops. She enjoyed wearing the costumes and playing pretend with me. This is her playing sushi master in the mini sushi bar:

I love that the staff are very proactive. They would play with the kids, assist parents and quickly clean up messes in the play area with big smiles on their faces. I can tell that they’re really enjoying their job! This is a biggie for me because I want staff in playgrounds who are good with kids. That way, you know that the kids will be taken good care of. May malasakit, as they say.

We weren’t able to take lots of photos of our play day at Kidzoona because Arjay and I both wanted to enjoy it with the minis instead of being behind a camera. So my apologies for showing just two photos. 😀

What can they improve on?

Honestly, the experience in the play area in general was very good. I love that the area is spacious and we absolutely love all the toys they have for the kids. I do think that they need to be more strict with their play rules–for kids AND parents alike.

For instance, I hope they can do something about kids who hurt other kids. The Princess was almost pushed off from the pole going up the slide by another kid simply because he didn’t want anyone else to climb up. Luckily, I was able to run towards the slide to catch my daughter. If I didn’t make it, she would have fallen really hard and injured herself. It was disappointing because although the kid’s mom saw what her son did, she just shrugged it off. As in she didn’t even tell her boy that he shouldn’t do that.

There was also another instance when the Little Man wanted to play with the puzzles, but a mom was playing with it. Note ha, a mom was playing with the puzzle. Her child was somewhere else in the play area. When my son asked if he can have his turn, the mom said, “Baby alis ka. I’m still playing.” Wow.

I’m not sure if Kidzoona has any rules in place regarding violent kids and parents who won’t let other kids play with toys, but really, they ought to be more strict about these things.

Other than these two observations, our experience at Kidzoona SM Masinag was good. Will we bring the minis back? Probably…but most likely on a weekday.

Have you brought your child to Kidzoona? How was your experience?

Went to Kidzoona SM Angono with my 2 year old son and had the same experience with the puzzle. I was filming my son that time so caught on cam kahit nauna ang baby ko sa puzzle the other kid pushed him away so dinala ko na lang sa ibang area then the same thing happened. I understand naman na bata sila so pinabayaan ko na lang. I was disappointed but at the same time realized na mas maturuan ng tamang asal ang baby ko para hindi maging tulad ng ibang bata.

That’s true, noh? We don’t have control over other kids’ behavior, but we have control over ours. It’s sad lang that some parents don’t take good behavior seriously. Maganda sana kung bata marunong nang maging kind and courteous.

hi! I just want to share our experience in Kidzooona SM Masinag last sunday. We were already in the locker area when we found out that my nephew (2yrs old and 11 months) is missing. The staff told us that “hindi makakalabas sa door” so we keep on searching inside but we can’t find him. We decided to search outside when the staff told us that “unless sumabay sa mga taong lumabas”. We were already panicking that time because there would be so many things that could happen to my nephew. Thank God that my sister-in-law found his son in Austin Land, he is carried by the cashier. It took 40mins when my nephew was found. And he is still not wearing his shoes yet. We never know if my nephew was stolen by someone. We are still waiting for SM Admin for the update and development will do to Kidzooona. I just want to share this to warn the parents. This is also a lesson for us that there is no safe area now so we have to be more careful with our child.

That’s awful! 🙁 I hope Kidzoona and SM will do something about that incident.

Hi, mommy! we brought the kids to Kidzoona Rob Gale Branch today and there’s a looot of people. It’s Saturday anyway. Hintay daw kame for the next batch. I don’t think the kids would enjoy, because it was too crowded. The staff said they let 90 kids in with chaperones, so that’s about 180 people “playing” inside. I bet there’s a big possibility that my kid would be pushed/pulled around and won’t get to play since even the adults are playing too. ^^v

That’s too bad. This is exactly why we avoid malls on weekends. When we bring our kids to Kidzoona or Gymboree, we usually go on weekdays. There are less people so the kids can really enjoy play time.

I searched for other Kidzoona branches right after I finished reading your post. And I was happy there is one in Robinsons Galleria. I’ll see to it that we’ll visit there this May, I’m sure my daughter will enjoy it there. 🙂

So I was thinking if pwede na twins ko dito? They are 1 yr and 2 months? Malapit lang kami dito sa SM Masinag eh and when I heard na open na sya excited akong pumunta. Kaya lang baka nga may mga big kids dun at baka hindi pa nila maapreciate.

    1. Kimberley Reyes

It’s open to kids up to 12 years of age so expect that there will be big kids there. Watch your twins carefully na lang because from our experience, some big kids play rough even with the little ones. But if you ask me, I’d just bring your twins to Gymboree instead of Kidzoona. It’s much safer there and the toys are really for younger kids. 🙂

will ask husband to bring along my children pag may leave na ulit sya ang better nga kung weekdays 🙂

I’ve been seeing a lot of good experiences in Kidzoona. Too bad malayo kami diyan 🙁 Pero I wanted to experiece it din for my kids. Anyhow, not a good example nanay out there. Pag ang parent hindi pinansin ang nagawang mali ng child, iisipin ng child na okay lang manakit ng ibang tao 🙁 Maybe they have a suggestion box that parent can complaint or tell what improvements they need.

It’s a fun place to take the kids. Yun lang, it can get dangerous if not all kids are controlled by their parents/guardians. It was disappointing because the boy is WAY older than my daughter (she’s 3). I believe he’s around 6 or 7 tapos pinatulan niya ng ganun daughter ko and his mom didn’t even say anything. 🙁

I didn’t notice if they have a suggestion box. But if we do come back, I’ll remember to submit a suggestion. 🙂
