My Kid Just Said #14 (For times you feel you’re not doing great at parenting)

What does your child really think about you? | momonduty.com

Although my husband tries his best to share parenting responsibilities with me, the type of work he is in gave me no choice but to take the lead parent role. Although I truly enjoy every moment I spend with the minis, there are still some days when I feel like I’m an epic fail at parenting.

I often find myself asking: Am I cut out for this? Am I doing it right? Are my kids growing up okay? I often wonder as well what my kids think about me, especially during times when I turn into The Hulk.

Then I saw this video:

I got curious so decided to ask my daughter what she thought about me–being the mom who juggles parenting, homemaking, and work. Does she think I’m not giving them enough time? Read on…

Me: K, what do you think of Mommy?

The Princess: Hmm. You are super duper ka-duper great, Mommy! You’re the best Mommy ever!

One sentence and I found myself holding back my tears. Oh my goodness!

Me: What do you like about Mommy?

The Princess: You take care of us! You give me food. Lots of yummy food! And you give me a bath when I’m stinky. You’re the best, Mommy. I want to be just like you.

Moms and Dads, don’t be hard on yourself. There will be times when you’ll feel like you’re not being the best parent in the world, but always remember that you will always be the best parent for your child.

Awww this made me teary-eyed Kim! *sniff

I can say that no matter whether you are a working mom or work from home mom, or a single mom. All we want is the BEST for our kids, and most of the times we have that “mom guilt”. But then again, it’s just so heart-melting to know that our kids, at an early age understand that whatever we do, we do it for them. ♥ Keep on shining Mommy Kim!

Thanks for dropping by, Stephanie! 🙂 I always fall in the mommy guilt trap, but this only proves that we’re all doing okay!
