PLDT Home DSL Treats Families to a Blocked Screening of Heaven Is For Real

Heaven Is For Real

Last Friday, my family and I were treated to a blocked screening of Heaven Is For Real. Arjay and I saw the trailer of this movie weeks ago so we were thrilled when we received an invitation from PLDT Home DSL to come see the movie with other families.

Heaven Is For Real is based on a book by Todd Burpo wherein he talks about the incredible story of his son, Colton, going to heaven and meeting Jesus. His son’s account of his journey to heaven was ignored by many in the community that even Todd began to doubt. He later on realized, however, the message God was trying to tell him through Colton: “The one thing His love requires is that I let others know that they’re not alone.” Despite the disbelief of the community, Todd did not leave Colton alone – and that it is his mission as a preacher in their community to always be the hand that reaches out to those who feel alone.

I guess like Todd Burpo, it is also every parent’s mission to be the hand that reaches out and guides their children. The minis are still very young but Arjay and I always make it a point to let them feel that we are here just by being present. We make time for them, we talk about everything and anything that astonishes them, and we patiently answer all their questions – no matter how shallow or sometimes, shocking… just like this one:

If you still don’t know, the little boy in the commercial is Diego Ledesma, the cute and witty kid behind Ask Diego. Of course, to make sure that the questions received by Diego are age-appropriate, parents Paolo and Lara as well as sister Trisha help filter the questions and assist him in giving advice. And to make it possible for the Ledesma family to receive and answer questions, there’s the ever reliable family-sized connection provided by PLDT Home DSL.

Following the success of its “Anna Banana” campaign with Derek S. Lorenzo and his family, PLDT Home DSL brings us another family to show how important family values and strong connections are at home. They are the Ledesma family, and their claim to fame began with seven-year-old Diego, who has tens of thousands of fans on his advice column on Facebook, “Ask Diego”.

We use PLDT Home DSL too and I tell you, with smart little ones, a reliable internet connection is essential! Remember when The Princess educated me about the Okapi? Good thing I had my phone and our wifi connection to help me learn more about that unfamiliar animal!

But, more than internet research and, of course, blogging, our PLDT Home DSL connection allows my family and I to keep in touch especially when Arjay is on duty. Sharing photos and videos as well as video calling is a breeze so it’s never like he’s far away!

I haven’t checked if the book is available locally. But since it’s a best seller, NBS or Fullybooked probably has it. 🙂
