Embracing Homeschooling

With the lifestyle changes forced upon us by the pandemic, a lot of parents are now considering changes in their kids’ learning method this year. In today’s episode of Coffee With Kim, I got a chance to chat with Joy Mendoza about how she started homeschooling her son and how they are managing it as a family.

Show Notes

  • Before anything else, know the reasons why you want to homeschool. These need to be important enough as they will be reminders for you whenever you hit roadblocks and setbacks in your homeschooling journey.
  • Read, read, read. Before deciding to homeschool, research about it and all your options. There are many providers in the Philippines alone. Pick one whose methods are most aligned to your family’s lifestyle.
  • Talk to your child about homeschooling. Before shifting to that kind of learning method, make sure that your child is also part of the decision.
  • Join the group, Homeschoolers of the Philippines, to find answers and get support.

I love this blog of yours momsh. Although my child is not yet schooling. This is a good advise from you.

This is a good idea!! I won’t also let my children go to school during this Pandemic, I can’t risk my children’s lives. It is better to home school them, in that way we can have more time for bonding.
