Christmas 2014: Celebrating Jesus’ Birthday with Family and Friends

Christmas 2014

Hello! I hope you all had a fun Christmas celebration. 🙂 Arjay was on duty on Christmas eve and Christmas day, but we made it work so he can still somewhat celebrate the most wonderful time of the year with us. Instead of taking the minis to my parents’, we decided to bring them to the fire station so they’d see what daddy does during this time of the year.

Here’s The Princess waiting for her dad to pick her up. She and The Little Man spent the eve of Christmas roving around town to remind everyone about fire safety for the holidays:

The Little Man joined the morning rove on the 24th while The Princess joined the evening rove. It’s unfortunate that I forgot to take photos of them in the fire truck. They sure enjoyed giving out flyers and greeting everyone a Merry Christmas. I have a feeling one of them might follow daddy’s footsteps!

After a night with their dad, we headed home and went to bed after a quick story about Christmas and a prayer of gratitude for all the blessings we received. The minis woke up at 6 the next morning. “Happy birthday, Jesus!” The Princess excitedly said as she jumped off the bed. The Little Man followed suit and, holding hands, they went downstairs to see what Santa left under the Christmas tree for them.

This Christmas tree, by the way, is a special one because this was a housewarming and Christmas gift when we moved to our apartment last Christmas. We had nothing in the house back then but this tree and a sofabed–which is why it serves as a reminder for us to be thankful for all the blessings that came our way:

Under the tree were lots of presents, but they dug deep for the two with Santa’s note first. One by one they checked the note cards until they saw the ones from Santa. The Princess got a new Play Doh set she can add to her collection while The Little Man received a box of wooden blocks.

After opening their gifts under our tree, I helped the minis prepare themselves so we can drive to their Lola’s house where more presents await under the Christmas tree. Look at this little girl all dressed up in clothes she chose herself:

Special thanks to her Ninong for the cute bow headband that she adores. She said she looks just like Minnie Mouse now!

As expected, they received lots of cool presents from their Lola and Tita. The Princess got herself a laptop that she said she’ll use with me so she can ‘work’ while I work. The Little Man got a new drum set that went pretty well with his rockstar look for Christmas day:

Of course, not only the minis received wonderful gifts for Christmas. Arjay and I also got presents from friends and family! Here are some of them:

Bebeng's Kitchen

A gigantic jar of Gourmet Tuyo plus a jar of Bagoong Alamang from our good friend, Denise of Bebeng’s Kitchen. She sure knows how to make us SUPER happy during the holidays! 😀

Travel journal

A journal from my best friend–who always, always, ALWAYS knows what I need! I’m beginning to believe that our minds are really connected. 😀 I will use this for the business stuff we’ll be discussing (so thankful I have friends that are willingly guiding me as I officially launch my business).

We received other gifts from friends and family–like an oil burner, a kitchen organizer, and many more useful stuff for our home, but I wasn’t able to take photos of all of them out of excitement. Hehe! No worries, all of those gifts found a special spot in our house already!

All in all, it was a pleasant Christmas celebration. It wasn’t as grand as our previous Christmases, but it’s a memorable one.

That’s our Christmas 2014. How was yours?

Glad to hear that your family had a happy and meaningful Christmas. We spent Christmas in the hospital because our Nanay was confined on Christmas Day due to low blood sugar level. We brought Christmas to her by holding our gift-giving in her hospital room.

I would have loved to see the Minis in the fire truck! Is your son crazy din about trucks? I love the story behind the Christmas tree 🙂 Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

It must have been fun for the kids to tag along in the rove on a fire truck! 🙂 What a wonderful celebration you had. Happy happy new year, Mommy Kim! 🙂

A sweet Christmas celebration with your loved ones is something that you will cherish forever. It gives your kids a wonderful memory and teaches them the true essence of Christmas.

Awwww… Well, our christmas wasn’t that merry as my husband got sick. So, we just opened the gifts today! 🙂

For the past 5 years, my hubby had to work on Christmas Eve and Christmas day too. But this year, he didn’t have to work on Christmas eve so he got to spend it with us. We had a really nice Christmas and it looks like you did too! Merry Christmas, Kim! 🙂

  8. When I was still working in BPO, we have no holidays too so I always file vacation leave so I’ll be home on Christmas Eve. Good thing that I’m a full time mom now so it is no longer my problem. 🙂

I hope my husband is allowed to file a leave during holidays, kaso hindi pa rin pwede. Hehe! But like I said, we’re used to it and making it work.

Merry Christmas to you and your family. I love climbing and riding on firetrucks. My uncle has been the Chief Fireman before he retired. He is now looking after his two grandkids which he said is so magulo and makulit that he is thinking of going back to the Fire Station- hahaha

The kiddos look so happy. That’s a cute drum set. 🙂

  13. Nice! I’d love to have that tradition of opening gifts on Christmas morning. The daughter’s too young to understand those things so there’s not much fuss about it this year – I was the one who was more excited! Anyway, we just spent our Christmas like normal except I was at home the whole time. I am totally loving the whole two weeks that I get to spend with my family, I could get used to this!

Merry Christmas to your family! You’ve got some really nice presents there. I would love some of that gourmet tuyo myself.

Awww…how nice that your kids wait until Christmas morn to open their presents. Our kids can barely wait to open theirs on Christmas eve…but to help them from getting tempted, we keep the presents hidden and take them out only on the 24th. 🙂
