Fun Under the Sun at Alviera’s Sandbox

Alviera Sandbox

Porac, Pampanga used to be known as a huge wasteland after it was covered by lahar in the 1990 Mt. Pinatubo eruption. Today, however, Porac has become a popular destination for adventure seekers due to its naturally difficult terrain, which adds a challenge to a trek, climb or drive.

For adventurous souls who are just beginners in this kind of terrain, there is a more controlled facility just off Porac Exit where they can practice before heading off to the wild. SandBox at Alviera is an adventure camp built by Ayala Land. It has an Adventure Tower with 15 meters of wall to climb, the Avatar One Roller Coaster Zipline (yep- it’s a rollercoaster zipline!), the Aerial Walk where people can practice their balancing skills, a giant swing, an off-road bike track, and ATV/UTV trails.

If you’re wondering, all these equipment were carefully installed to ensure safety under the supervision of Kerry Asuncion, who founded Extreme Adventures, Inc. While the facility is generally safe, guests should still practice extra caution and good judgment. For instance, although The Princess was allowed to ride the UTV with Arjay, my husband and I both agreed not to let her ride since we feel that it may not be very safe for her.

Aside from these fun and thrilling rides, families with little ones can also enjoy the playground with a huge sandbox. The bunkers, slides and kiddie pools with water guns are a huge hit for the kids!

Guests can also give kite flying a try. Just take note that these are not the usual kites you’ll be flying!

HOW TO GET TO ALVIERA’S SANDBOX (via private car)

  1. From the North Luzon Expressway, take the SCTEX Exit (it’s the last one and is right after Dau Exit).
  2. From SCTEX, drive a little further until you find Porac Exit.
  3. Alviera’s Sandbox is located just after you take Porac Exit. You will see it on your right.

  1. Wow! Nice place to visit. Will include this in the next places to go to with the family.

  2. Mommy Peachy

It looks like a place for an adventure! I ‘ll add this to my list of places to visit.

  3. patriciacuyugan

Another blogger friend was offering to give us tickets to check this place out, but grabe I am so not outdoorsy. Plus, it’s been so hot lately, so I dunno if I would last. But it looks really nice and fun! If only there was a place I could park my butt and just watch the boys as they go and explore hehe.

  4. OMG. I will die on that giant swing! Picture pa lang parang umikot na laman loob ko at ang aking occupied uterus! I’ve only tried zip line once in Boracay and it felt like…. I CAN’T EXPLAIN!

  5. It is good that people found a way to make the place productive and attractive. But I think it would have been a whole lot better if there are trees around. Even how attractive the place is if it so hot, I certainly would not bring my kids there.

  6. Looks like a fun place to go with the family. But I also don’t fare well with the heat. I have a history of passing out. So, we’ll probably give this place a try when summer is over.

  7. Looking at the pictures mukhang wala nga shades and parang mahihimatay ko sa init. lol But P75 entrance fee is not bad.

I don’t fare well in heat so I was at the verge of passing out na come 11 am. Haha! Hopefully they will build an airconditioned area where people can cool down.

  8. yep, that definitely isn’t the usual kite!
having 3 boys, i know that i’ll have to get fit and get into these kinds of things really really soon so I can encourage them to be…well, boys. thanks for sharing. you know, i’ve gotten into the habit of showing my hubby a lot of your blogs on these activities, events and venues you post about. 🙂

    1. Kim Reyes

I can relate! With a husband who is used to an active lifestyle, I’ve learned to like (like pa lang, hindi pa love haha!) these kinds of activities. I’m sure you and your husband will also enjoy the places we go to and activities we try with our kids. 🙂

  9. Kat

Wow. I’d love to try that Giant swing! Ü

    1. Kim Reyes

I didn’t get to try it while we were there, but those who tried sure had fun! Go visit Sandbox. 🙂

  10. Thanks for a very detailed information about the place (the budget as well as “how to get there”. This will surely be of great help for Mom’s on the budget who is looking for a summer getaway and activities for the whole family.

ang ganda naman dyan mommy Kim! ok na ok yan lalo na pag mga family gatherings, maraming activities na pwedeng gawin.

    1. Kim Reyes

It’s a nice place to take the family. 🙂 Just be sure to bring lots of sunblock and water because it is extremely hot there.

      1. Kelay

I also want to visit the place kaya lang may nakapagsabi po kasi sakin na bitin sa isang araw kasi matatapos agad lahat ng activities in 1-2 hrs. Is there any place na isasuggest mo po na pwede pang puntahan after? 🙂

        1. Kim Timbol-Reyes

You can head over to Subic if you’d like. That’s what we did 🙂
